Bonsai Album - track your bonsai tree collection ($7.99) by Andrew Nicolle is an organizational tool for collectors of the miniature plants and trees. If you have amassed a large enough collection of bonsai, this app will help you keep track of their birthday, how much you have spent on them, and when their last grooming session was.
The first thing you will want to do is add your pots, since you will need this list when you input your bonsai’s information. Name your pot and add information regarding its material, shape, cost and date purchased. Additional information to include would be the pot maker, size and whether it was glazed and how many drainage holes it has.
When you have all of your pots listed, you can begin adding your bonsai. First, name your tree. Then add information pertaining to species, style birthday, age, purchase price, pot used height, trunk width and canopy width. Log events for each of your trees, such as, fertilizing date, repotting date, date sold, etc.
I have never owned a Bonsai myself, but after seeing what this universal app has to offer, I found myself looking into investing in one. You can tell that the developer of this app loves his trees. The attention to detail is fabulous. Bonsai collectors will love having such an organizational tool at their fingertips. The price may seem high for an app, but it is reasonable for the amount of information that can be collected and stored. Buy it in the App Store for $7.99. If you have less than three of your own Bonsai, try the lite version for free.
