Log Your Dining Experience With Menuism
Menuism-Personal Dining Journal (Free) by Delta Beans, LLC keeps track of meals you’ve eaten at different restaurants.
Do you go out to eat a lot? I know I’m guilty of it. If you want to gather a list of what you’ve eaten and where, this is the app for you.
You’ll first need to create an account, which can be either a new one or just your Facebook account. Your avatar is a pleasant little rotund guy with a block head, though you can change it if you’d like.
From there you can find nearby restaurants (if location services is on), and you can click the central plate icon to add a new meal that you’ve experienced. Type in a description, rate it, and even add a photo.
Your information will be uploaded so that others can view it. Likewise, you can also read reviews from users within your area (so far the app only supports U.S. and Canada).
While this is all fine and good, my main complaint about this app is that it doesn’t work. After clicking the add dish button and entering the meal information, everything should be set.
However, when you go back to the menu, the app asks if you want to abandon the current review. Selecting yes will dump anything you entered and selecting no takes you back to where you’re trying to leave.
The actual Menuism site looks like it has more promise than the app. You are ranked depending on how many reviews you’ve submitted, and badges can be earned as well. Entering information on the site will actually stick.
I would recommend this app for those who are active participants on the Menuism site. The app would work perfectly for logging information while at a restaurant. This, of course, is provided that your information actually saves. As a stand alone option, this app falls flat.
