Immerse Yourself In The Colorful World Of Minesweeper Of Wizard
Minesweeper of Wizard ($0.99) by PLAYPIEGAMES Co., Ltd. is an interesting twist on the old Minesweeper game of yore. It is the same great puzzle game you know, but puts you in the middle of a world where the lands have been destroyed.
One day, a wizard appeared and had amazing powers to restore the land. With the power of the wizard, you can replenish the lands and save your world as you know it. Just watch out for the mines!
The rules are exactly like Minesweeper -- you start with a grid of gray blocks. But plain gray blocks are boring, right? Minesweeper of Wizard has taken the drab Minesweeper blocks and placed bright and crisp graphics in game to be uncovered.
Tap each block, one by one, to cautiously uncover the city. Some blocks will have numbers on them. The numbers represent how many mines that space is surrounded by, or touching.
Once you think you've figured out where a mine is, tap the star in the right corner and then tap the space on which you wish to place it. This marks the mines, so that you don't mistakenly click them. The first time you hit a mine, it's game over and you must start from the beginning.
There are three game modes that you can choose from. In single player mode, you must clear the stages, in order, to move on. The other two are slightly similar: survival mode has you open as many squares as possible within the time limit and speed mode has you clear the land as quickly as possible. You can even play with your Facebook friends, too (when playing something other than single player mode, that is).
My only qualm with this game is that there is no Game Center support. I think adding achievements and the ability to play versus your Game Center friends would make this game an even bigger hit. I hope the developers will take this into consideration.
I did experience one incident in which the game froze up and then crashed. But the entire time I played it, this only happened once. I'm sure it's just a minor bug that will be worked out in the next update.
All in all, I was truly impressed with this game; it exceeded my expectations. Not only are the graphics gorgeous, and music a delight to play by, but it adds an adventure twist to the classic game of Minesweeper.
Minesweeper of Wizard is available in the App Store for iPhone only, for only $0.99.
