What Happens When A Chick, A Pig, And A Cow Team Up? Find Out In Piggy Adventure
Piggy Adventure ($0.99) by Com2uS Inc. is a platform puzzle game where you control three adorable farm animals and complete puzzles to gather up droplets of color. You see, the world of Avelon was once a beautiful kaleidoscope of colors, but sadly, it’s been drained of both color and joy.
The three animals -- a cow, pig, and chick -- are all painters on a mission to save the island, and they must work together to cross barriers and overcome obstacles in order to find color drops and repaint their world.
This is a surprisingly unique game. Switching between three characters and herding them into the right spots to get all of the drops is both entertaining and simple, thanks to great controls.
Arrows on the left side of the screen control movement, and characters can be switched by tapping on their portraits on the right side of the screen. That’s also where the jump button is located. Both movement and jumping are smooth and the timing is spot on. If you don’t like the virtual keyboard design, you can also play using tilt controls.
Each animal is usually located in a different area on the level, and must be moved to push blocks, activate switches, roll balls, and tilt ramps. There are dangerous obstacles, like poisonous rain, that must be avoided. The goal is to collect the three drops in each level. Doing so in a timely manner will net you the maximum number of points.
There are several tutorial levels to get you oriented with the game. After this, the the puzzles become more challenging, and will require both patience and skill to complete. If you get stuck, the game allows you to skip a level or get hints, which may prevent frustration.
In all, there are more than 40 levels, with more coming soon, and over 40 fun achievements to earn. Your playing can be recorded in real time and shared on YouTube and Facebook so you can show off your animal-switching prowess.
Piggy Adventure is just $0.99, and definitely worth the purchase price. The gameplay is fun, the characters are adorable, and the cartoon-like graphics look great. Thanks to level skipping and hints, this game is perfect for both serious and casual gamers.
