ICloudy Is A Simple Yet Entertaining Puzzler
October 4, 2011
iCloudy ($0.99) by DemSt is a clever new puzzle game with striking similarities to previous titles like Firefly Hero and Cut the Rope. Although it is not an entirely original idea, iCloudy takes popular, and previously “violent” app themes and turns them into a peaceful puzzler.
The object is to navigate your paper plane from the starting point to the end point, collecting stars as you go. The plane flies across the screen along the dotted path. Players alter their plane’s path by dragging the white circles along the line, and curving the line to collect the starts.
Aside from collecting the stars, players must make sure their planes avoid the bad weather clouds. Some clouds are stationary, and others move which makes them more difficult to avoid. Hitting a cloud will cause your plane to go back to the starting point.
Each iCloudy level is timed. The less time it takes to complete a level, the higher your score. Scores for each level are added to the total for that level pack. ICloudy currently has four level packs of 15 levels, with another pack coming soon. You can share your high scores with friends through Facebook or Twitter. The app also has Game Center integration.
Overall, iCloudy is a calm but fun game for all ages. It follows a well-tested formula for successful apps, so it should not disappoint. Consider it for one of your iDevices.
