Quirky App Of The Day: Great World War II Songs

World War II brought about a lot of change to most countries. Everything from government to everyday life felt the effects of the global struggle. Music was one of the things that reflected the changes that were so deeply felt. This app is truly different in that it brings the classics of the era into one app. I usually gravitate towards apps that make me wonder why anyone would want to spend a remarkable amount of time playing, reading, or participating in. There are also the apps that bring interesting facts and trivial knowledge that wouldn't even help my rear in a death match of Jeopardy. This app is quirky because I don't see other apps doing this. Great World War II Songs has taken many of the favorites from a specific, important era, and combined them into one place for the enjoyment of listeners.
With artists such as Tommy Dorsey, The Four Vagabonds and Spike Jones, there's an assortment of music for different tastes. There are 10 songs available for free, but with an upgrade, there are an additional 30 songs available. While it sounds a little outrageous to spend $2.99 to upgrade the app, remember that you would normally only be able to buy about three songs for that price. So, fans of this genre would actually be saving money if they bought the app instead of the albums or individual songs. For 40 songs, three bucks isn't so bad.
I'm also a hopeless romantic when it comes to the picture "Kissing Nurse" that is iconic for Americans in celebrating the end of World War II. A sailor grabbed her, dipped her and kissed her amidst all the commotion, so it's only fitting that with celebratory music, there's a celebratory kiss involved as well. A beautiful picture with beautiful music makes for an awesome app.
Great World War II Songs is a universal app available in the App Store for the awesome price of FREE!
