Sprint Follows AT&T Into Ending Unlimited Data Plans For Tethering

October 22, 2011
Following in the footsteps of AT&T, and starting in November, Sprint will have to stop airing all those "true unlimited" commercials. The carrier that used the word unlimited so much is now becoming, limited.

In November, Sprint will usher in data caps of 3GB, 5GB, and 10GB for all data sent and received through tethering. That does not include data sent and received from your phone, but overages will cost you $0.05 per megabyte if you go over on your tethering plan. Probably the worst part for Sprint subscribers is that unlike AT&T, previous unlimited users will not be grandfathered in. So you better download all those movies now, because come November, it will really cost you.
