Camera Genius, one of the top-selling iPhone photo apps in the App Store has received an impressive new update. Version 4.0 includes three new features that make the $.99 app better than ever. Created by CodeGoo, Camera Genius is now the first third-party app to be approved to use the volume+ button to take a photo since Apple released this feature in its own Camera app. In addition, Camera Genius now includes focus snap, which is a nice tool to have when you want to custom focus your shot. To do so, simply tap the screen where you would like to focus and the app focuses on that area and then snaps the photo. This feature also helps prevent blurring since you aren’t tapping the camera as the shot is actually taken. Finally, Camera Genius Version 4.0 includes a brand new postcard feature. Now you can send 4” by 6” postcards of any of your photos to anyone in the world right from within the app. While Camera Genius does not currently offer advanced postcard customizations like Apple’s own Cards app does, it is a cheaper solution. CodeGoo charges $1.99 per postcard versus Apple’s $2.99. Don’t want to send a postcard? Photos can also be sent using email, Facebook, Flickr, Picasa, Twitter, and Tumblr. Camera Genius is a nice app and one that definitely gets better with each subsequent upgrade. Best of all, CodeGoo has provided AppAdvice with a few promo codes to share with our readers.
