Satisfy Nutty Sam's ADD With Shiny Objects In This Action Puzzler
Nutty Sam: Swing, Slide & Soar to Survive (Free) by Digital Legends Entertainment is a cute action puzzler in which you play a half chameleon, half blowfish and help him collect golden nuts.
Nutty Sam is a cute little guy. And he's pink. So, he is obviously very comfortable with his manhood. On the main screen, you can switch the light off and Sam goes to sleep. This was probably the cutest thing I've seen. You can even tap on him and he'll make adorable noises at you.
Oh, right. The game.
The goal of the game is to help Sam make it through each level and, along the way, collect the golden nuts. Apparently, for whatever reason, Sam is drawn to these shiny objects. I assume it's some form of ADD. There are three nuts per level, and your score depends on how many moves it takes you to finish as well as how many nuts you end up collecting.
There are many mechanics to help Sam along on his journey to the end of each level. Just tap and hold on the screen (anywhere) to inflate him and release to make him fall. The red buttons will slingshot Sam whichever way the arrow attached to them is pointing and the wind can be used to help him float in different directions.
There are also many other obstacles to overcome or devices that help you along the way. From secret switches that open doors, to springs that send you bouncing, they're all creative and interesting ways to make it through the levels. Once you're done, you must float Sam over to the hole to end the level.
There are currently 60 levels total. However, you can only play 20 levels for free before having to pay $0.99 to gain access to the others. These levels can be completed very quickly, too. But it's still nice to be able to try it out and decide whether or not you want to buy the other levels.
Nutty Sam is available in the App Store for free and is a universal app with full Game Center and OpenFeint support.
