Let TeeVee - Your Serial Guru Keep You Updated On Your Favorite Shows — Plus A Chance To Win!
TeeVee - Your Serial Guru ($0.99) by CrazyApps is a television series information hub. From alerts to episode summaries, this app has a lot to offer.
First things first, couch potatoes. Tap the plus sign in the top right corner to add your favorite shows. The thing I don't like about this is that you are just provided with a giant alphabetical list of television shows. There isn't a way to search or add your own. If it's not on their list, no dice. I must say that the list is pretty extensive, but for those of us who don't just watch the popular shows — you know, us hipsters — you may not always find exactly what you're looking for.
Once you've added some shows, feel free to organize them just as you would organize the homescreen on your iDevice: press and hold until they wiggle and you're able to move them around. Just tap done once they're organized to your liking.
Now, let's explore our favorite shows. Tap on the TV show icon and it will provide you with a surplus of information: rating, summary, cast, and even an episode list.
Under the info tab, it gives you a countdown until the next episode airs, front and center (days, hours, minutes). It also shows you the average rating of the show, out of five stars, and gives you a brief summary of what the show is about.
I expected more from the cast information. It only shows a list of the "main" cast members, and although it seems like you can tap on the actor or actress to see more info, you can't. I was a bit disappointed. I guess I thought it would be more in depth and allow me to read more about the cast, but instead it's only a list of names. Tapping them does nothing; believe me, I tried.
The episode tab gives you a list of all past episodes as well as descriptions of each and a photo (where available).
You can set alerts for your favorite shows (under info), so you never miss a new episode. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like you can customize the alerts, like in TV Forecast. Instead, you set the alert for a certain show and it will only send you an alert on the time of the new episode's airing.
