Get Your Point Out Quickly With A Tiny Review

Tiny Review (Free) by Beeem Inc. is a social app that allows users to review things around them – but in a tiny, condensed way.

We all have something to say about a place, or something a place sells or offers, right? Tiny Review allows us to do all of this, but in a very simple way: one photo, and three lines. That’s it. It’s so simple that anyone can do it.

Currently, Tiny Review requires a Facebook account to log in. The developers are working on bringing more ways of logging in and creating an account in the future, but for now, this is the only option. So if you are not comfortable with Facebook Connect or don’t have a Facebook account, then unfortunately you will have to wait it out.

When you are able to get in the app, the first thing you’ll probably see is the Nearby view. There are four other options on the bottom toolbar: Following, Add New Review, Activity, and Profile.

In the Nearby view, you will be able to see locations near you (and their approximate distance), the user who uploaded it, the photo, and the three lines (or less) they put for the review. Tapping on one will bring up the full review (and you can see when it was uploaded), and you can “like” the review or even add add to it (use the same photo but include your own three line review). The location can be tapped to bring up a map of where it is, which is useful if you plan to check it out for yourself after a tiny review.

Since it requires Facebook to use, you will automatically be following any other Facebook friends that use Tiny Review. You can also follow other people you find on the app, if you choose. To view the activity of the people you follow, just go to the Following tab.

When you add a new tiny review, you will be prompted to either take a picture from the app or to import from your photo library. Once you get the image, you will add three lines of text. Each line is limited to a specific character count, so you will have to make it short and sweet (hopefully to the point). The step after that will allow you to pick a location, and then which social networks to share it to (Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, Tumblr, and email). As that’s all taken care of, it’s time to post it, so that the Tiny Review community and your friends can see.

Unfortunately, this isn’t something like Oink, where you can rate things without a location. The point of Tiny Review is to review things around the neighborhood, so a location is always needed. Maybe this can change in the future, but that’s just how it is for now.

The Activity tab will show you if someone likes your review or if they added their own. In Profile, you will see the tiny reviews you’ve made, and following/follower statistics.

I think then best thing about Tiny Review is the three lines – this will force you to make brutally honest (or entertaining) reviews that will help others decide if they should check a place out. It’s also much easier than writing a full review on Yelp. However, the real usefulness of this app is dependent on the user base, which may vary depending on where you are.

Overall, it’s pretty decent and worth trying since it’s free and has a pretty nice interface. However, if you dislike Facebook or don’t have an account, then you’re out of luck and have to wait until more login options are included.

The app is minimal, simple, and to the point. Just like your reviews should be. Give it a try and let us know what you think!
