Rumor Mill: The iPhone 5 And iPad 3 Will Both Be LTE
by Matthew Sims

According to Japanese magazine and book publisher, Nikkei Business Publications, the next generation iPads and iPhone will be LTE capable. The new 4G devices are supposedly going to launch on Japan's largest mobile carrier, NTT DoCoMo, in the summer and spring of 2012, respectively.
From the Nikkei Article:
Apple CEO Tim Cook is said to have met with NTT DoCoMo president Kiyoyuki Tsujimura and VP Takashi Yamada earlier this month to work out the details of the arrangement, and the companies have reportedly reached agreeable terms. While I'm completely filing this one under pure speculation and rumor for now, it does make sense for the iPad 3 and iPhone 5 to have 4G built in as it is the next logical step in network technology. It is possible, despite what rumors may say the new iteration of these devices will be more focused on subtle design changes (like from iPhone to iPhone 3G) and have the increase in speed, screen size, and new Siri based features be their real selling points. It looks as if we may finally see the long awaited and rumored "iPhone 4G." However, just like all the other rumors, we'll just have to wait and see until next year.
