Siri Dictation Now Available On iPhone 4 And iPhone 3GS With New Jailbreak Tweak

November 28, 2011
Officially, Apple’s voice recognition service, Siri, is only available on the iPhone 4S. However, a new jailbreak is expanding Siri’s reach to the iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS for the first time, according to iDownloadBlog. Created by Eric Day, Siri0us is available via Cydia and is actually Nuance-based. However, the end result is the same as Siri's dictation capabilities.
To get Siri Dictation running on your jailbroken iDevice, simply add http://apt.if0rce.com to your list of Cydia sources and search for “Siri0us.” The developer has noted a bug that some may run into when trying to install. If your iDevice keeps respringing, do not restore! Use a SSH tool to remove the /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/AssistantServices.framework file.
Before installing Siri0us, keep in mind the jailbreak is supported by ads and you’ll need an Internet connection for “Siri’s” microphone to show up. Still, as the following video shows, the tweak does work.
