iPhone 4 Siri-Like Dictation Tweak Pulled By Its Developer
November 29, 2011
Siri0us, the Nuance-powered Siri dictation tweak for legacy iDevices, is no more. Its creator, Eric Day, today pulled it from Cydia, according to iDownloadBlog.
On Sunday, we highlighted Siri0us, which brought Siri-like system-wide dictation capabilities to the iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS for the first time. However, Nuance has refused to sell Day the rights to use their technology in the tweak. As such, the tool has been pulled until a free voice recognition technology is found to powered the app.
Here’s the original Siri0us video demonstration for those that didn’t see it in the original post:
Hopefully, Day will find another partner and Siri0us will return to Cydia in some form very soon. Better still, perhaps Apple will finally allow Siri on legacy iDevices via an iOS update, but don't count on it.
