Access Your iOS Settings From The Notification Center With This App - No Jailbreaking Required

December 6, 2011
App Switcher today arrived in the App Store. The $.99 utility makes it easier to quickly launch your top tasks via the app, as well as access them directly from the iOS 5.0 Notification Center. Created by Pepper Stuff, App Switcher isn’t flashy, but it should make your life a little bit easier. And setting it up is quick and pain free. First you’ll need to make some adjustments to your iPhone’s Settings app. These step-by-step instructions are available here and also within the app. Now, the real fun begins. Quick Launch is the location to put important tasks, such as frequently called, emailed, and/or SMS/iMessage contacts and URLs. To do so, click the “+” icon at the top right of the app screen and then select the necessary action. From there, assign the contact. For example, I need to create a Quick Launch for texting my brother, Chris. To do so, I’ll select “+” and then SMS/iMessage. Now, whenever I need to contact him, I’ll go into the App Switcher app and select “Text Chris Wolfe.” There is no limit to the number of Quick Launches available. Notification Center Once Quick Launches are entered, you many want to include some in the Notification Center. Select Setup within the App Switcher app. Here, you’ll find four empty Notification Center “slots.” To fill these, click on the “+” to the right of each item. Next, select one of the created Quick Launches. Repeat these steps as necessary. Your selected Quick Launches will now show up within the Notification Center. Now you have quick access to the actions you use the most, from anywhere. Very cool, don’t you think? Download the new App Switcher today in the App Store.
