IceBreak For Couples Can Bring You Closer Together
IceBreak for Couples (Free) by TheIceBreak is an app that can help bring you closer to your significant other. The website theicebreak.com has been bringing couples closer together for a while now, but now the app lets you improve your relationship on the go.
Sign up for a free account, and your identity will be seen only by your partner. Each day at the top of the home screen, you will see an option to “Answer today’s Icebreaker”. You can post an answer and also see responses from other (anonymous) users. These questions are things you might not think to ask your partner, whether you’ve been together for two weeks or two decades. For example, “When you are in need of encouragement, what is the best way to let your partner know?” and “What are the best words to hear from your partner?” and “What is different about your partner, that marks them out from the rest?”. These questions alone can be nice relationship tool, to start conversations that can bring you closer.
Tap “Capture Today’s Moment” to upload a photo that responds to a specific cue, like “Capture something that made you smile today”.
Moving down the home page to “Wall”; tapping this brings up a Facebook-like news feed, summarizing everything you have done in the app thus far. Next, tap “IceBreakers” to bring up a list of the ice breakers mentioned above. Now tap “Moments”, to bring up a list of all your “moments”, or see other (anonymous) user’s “moments”.
Now tap “Stats” to bring up a graph that indicates your current level of relationship satisfaction, as well as an average of other users’. Use sliders to respond to questions regarding how you feel about your relationship over the last 7 days. Overall relationship happiness? Overall communication? Feeling supported by your partner? Enough fun or social activities together? Respond to all of these and more using sliders. Hopefully this will give you a direction, point up some areas of your relationship that you could work on.
Now, tap “Profile” to see and edit your user profile, including the number of coins you have earned. Completing any of the above activities will earn you coins, which can eventually be traded in for discounts on your next date night: up to a $20 rebate! This app is free and definitely worth exploring if you are in a relationship. You and your partner can get to know each other more deeply, communicate better, and even earn a few dollars in the process.
