New App, Vocal, Uses Voice Commands On The 4S To Control Your Mac

December 21, 2011

We at AppAdvice really do love iOS 5. In fact, we love how iOS features are being implemented into the Mac OS as well. One of the things I personally can’t wait to see is iMessage available on the Mac.

We also love our iPhone 4S handsets and, of course, that snarky succubus that is Siri. Anything that helps us merge our Mac lives and our iLives together is a definite plus.

Enter: Vocal. Vocal allows you to use your voice to dictate text and even give your Mac commands. Connect to your computer to control any application, send multiple commands, and even dictate long documents of text — all using your voice.

For this to work, you just need an iPhone 4S, — if you want to dictate by voice, you can always type in commands instead if necessary — an internet connection, and the free Mac software. There. You’re good to go.

I’m excited to get my hands on this and give it a test drive, so that I can let you guys know how it is.

In the meantime, you can purchase Vocal in the App Store for $1.99.
