Devour Humans And Create Ghouls In Infect Them All: Vampires

December 13, 2011

Infect Them All : Vampires ($0.99) by Magic Cube is a lot like Magic Cube’s original game, Infect Them All, which featured zombies.

In this game, you’re a blood thirsty vampire set on turning all of the roaming humans into your thralls. Of course, you’re obviously not the smartest vampire out there, because when all you’ve got are vampiric minions, who are you going to eat?

When you open the app, you can choose between tilt motion or a joypad to move around on the screen. I hate tilt movement, so I used the joypad. At the beginning of the game you only have one vampire to choose from, but infecting people will unlock new vampires. The goal is to roam around on the screen and grab a nearby human to sink your fangs into.

When you encounter a human (just walk into one), you automatically grab on and start to feast. Tapping the screen once will turn the human into a ghoul. If you choose to not tap, you’ll eat the entire human, which gives a health boost. Some humans are stronger than others, and must be attacked more than once. Your minions will be able to do the attacking, which speeds up your rate of infection.

Infecting and attacking humans will earn you gold, which can be spent between levels to upgrade your abilities. You can upgrade health, armor, speed, special attacks, and minions. Upgrading stats makes you move faster or start with more health, while upgrading your attack makes it more efficient and upgrading minions allows you to start each level with your lackeys already in tow.

Sometimes when you run up and bite someone, they get really angry and choose to fight back. This is where your special swiping power comes in handy, as it will allow you to zoom across the screen and attack several enemies at once.

Be careful where you wander while you’re devouring helpless victims, though, because if you happen to stop in a sunny spot for a snack, your health will slowly drain. You will also need to dodge police bullets, holy water, and baseball bats.

You start out on a farm and move to a new area every 10 levels. Each area culminates in a boss fight, where you will need to battle a powerful enemy. In total, there are 50 stages in campaign mode with 30 different enemies. There’s also an unlockable infinite mode plus a blitz mode, which equates to quite a bit of gameplay for just $0.99.

Infect Them All: Vampires may be just a simple action game, but the concept and the gameplay will have you addicted in no time.
