Santa Booth ($0.99) by Analog Nest is a cute photography app for the holiday season. Now you can turn anyone’s face into Santa, Mrs. Claus, an elf, or a reindeer. Take photos with your iPhone’s camera or use existing ones from the camera roll, and add fun props to them.
Santa Booth takes pictures of you or your friends and edits them to look more like one of the four characters. Then the app gives you different add-ons to place on the photo; Santa comes with a beard, hat, and glasses, etc.
The app is incredibly easy to use. Just open it, choose a character, snap a photo, and edit. After completing the photo, the Santa Booth provides several options for sharing the images. Users can choose to upload photos to Facebook, Twitter, email, or simply save them to their iPhone’s photo album.
Although Santa Booth is a very well designed app, there is still some room for improvement. In future updates, more options for faces should be added, beyond the four current ones.
There should be more props so every face does not look the same. The ability to edit multiple faces in one picture would also be useful.
Finally, props should be allowed to be shared across face options, so elves should be able to wear Santa hats and so on.
In the end, Santa Booth is a simple holiday photography app. It allows users to quickly and easily create fun, seasonal photos of themselves as one of four classic Christmas icons.
