Santa's Big Helper: 9 Christmas Apps in 1 ($0.99) by Wet Nose Design Ltd is a nine-in-one app for all your Christmas needs. Designed for the whole family, this app has plenty of features to entertain and help prepare for Christmas.
Adults should be the first to use the app. They set up the grownup section of the app. This section includes password security, adding children, editing the naughty and nice list, and setting their location. Once the grownup section is up and running, children can use the app.
From the homepage, there are seven features for kids to use.
With Calendar, they can see how many days, hours, minutes, and seconds to Christmas or, more importantly, how many times they have to go to sleep before the big day. The flashing lights take them to the Christmas sounds page, where they can listen to six different holiday songs, including "Deck the Halls."
The Nice/Naughty scroll shows them if they’ve been good or bad. They can send letters to Santa with their gift lists by tapping the letter. Kids can choose from a variety of pre-set questions, and have an elf answer them in a video. They can see other videos of North Pole happenings through the Elf Updates area.
Finally, on Christmas Eve, the app allows children to track Santa on his journey from the North Pole around the world with the Santa Tracker.
Whenever a child sends a letter to Santa, parents can access the wish list from the grownup section. This section is password protected, so no little ones will be able to infiltrate the system. Parents can view and email their children’s’ wish lists for future reference.
Parents can also record videos of Santa coming down their chimney or anywhere in their house. Using the iDevice camera, you can take a photo and watch as it is transformed into an Elf Cam video of Santa!
By far the most interesting feature of Santa’s Big Helper are the elf updates. Dozey-Toes the elf delivers video updates about all the happenings in the North Pole. These updates are not only for children but adults too! They are quite funny and entertaining.
Overall, Santa’s Big Helper is entertaining for children and useful for adults. It is a great all-in-one app for the holiday season. Even though Christmas is only a few days away, there are plenty of features in Santa’s Big Helper that can still be used.
