The Color Picker - User-Friendly Color Picker (Free) by GottaBeAndrew is an extremely useful too for any designer or redecorator.

I was surprised to find this app in the App Store. The thing about it that caught my attention was how beautifully designed it was. Even though I’m not a designer by any means, I love gorgeous interfaces, which is exactly what I found here.

When you launch the app, you get a simple interface. The app shows you a color picker placed on top of a woodgrain background. Simply select any color, and drag the picker to the exact pixel you want. The color will be displayed at the top, along with a code.

You probably noticed the gear icon that is displayed next to the selected color. Tapping this allows you to choose to display the code from three different types: HSB, RGB, and HEX. Selecting one will change the code immediately. You can use these codes for the web and any photo editing software.

The nice thing about The Color Picker is that you can import any image from your device’s Photo Library. Doing this allows you to get the exact code for any pixel on the image.

When you get the code for the color you want (either from the color picker or an image), you can email the code and color to someone, or even send a tweet out (using native iOS 5 Twitter integration).

Overall, the app is simple and easy-to-use. The interface is beautiful and intuitive; I’m amazed that it’s free. If you’re a designer, or someone that needs precise color matches, then this app is for you.
