Flick Golf ($0.99) for iPhone is a finely tuned mobile arcade version of golf that provides you with only the most entertaining aspects, like crushing the ball off of the tee, while taking away all of the things that can make it monotonous, like selecting the appropriate clubs and, you know, following the rules. The game was recently updated with two new courses, and to celebrate, we're giving away five copies!
Flick Golf's mechanics are extremely easy to get the hang of. Just swipe from the bottom of the screen towards the top to smash the ball off the tee and towards the pin, and then swipe some more to control the curve of the ball while in the air and put some spin on it to get it in the hole. You're award bonus points for not only getting a hole-in-one, but also for the maneuvers you used to accomplish the feat.
The game includes a World Tour mode and two Quickshot modes. In World Tour mode your job is to reach certain point thresholds with a limited number of balls to unlock the next course. In the two Quickshot modes you're simply required to score as many points as possible in a limited amount of time, although you can earn more time by scoring hole-in-ones. The game also includes Game Center integration, so you can compare scores and achievements with your golf buddies.
Flick Golf's two new courses -- Impala Sands and Kapiti Island -- offer more of the same gameplay, just in different locations with new scenery and challenging pin placements. The neat thing is that both courses don't need to be unlocked like the others in the game. You'll find them both at the bottom of the list in all game modes under the "Bonus Levels" heading all ready to play. If you aren't up for the challenge of unlocking all of the courses, however, you'll be happy to know Full Fat has added an in-app purchase option that allows you to unlock them all at once for $0.99.
