Apple Says Steve Jobs Action Figure Won't Be Visiting Any Barbie Dream Houses

January 5, 2012
Recently we told you about the Steve Jobs action figure — it looks so realistic, in fact, that it’s almost unsettling — and our thoughts were that Apple would probably try to step in. Well, sure enough, Apple is threatening to sue In Icons unless they stop production and sales. In a letter to the doll manufacturer, as The Telegraph reported, Apple stated that anything resembling the company’s logo, person’s name, appearance, or likeness is a criminal offense. But, really, who is Apple to stop this? They don’t have a copyright or trademark on Steve Jobs; he’s a person. Do you think the action figure should be sold? Does Apple have the right to step in?
