CES 2012: Cinefy To Bring Mind-Blowing Hollywood Special Effects To iOS

January 14, 2012
When it comes to special effects, there are very few apps in the App Store that have gotten it right, most notably Action Movie FX. I, being, a filmmaking enthusiast stumbled across, what seemed to be the next big thing to hit the App Store: Cinefy. Cinefy is unlike any app I have seen in the App Store. The app features a full-blown video editor as well as an incredible special effects system that really adds magic to your videos. The app offers a minimal user interface that allows video editing to be as easy as possible, but where it really excels in, is the special effects. The app boasts over 50 unique, visually stunning effects. Whether it's the Jurassic age or UFOs Cinefy has got you covered. In addition to all this, Cinefy also includes a comprehensive library of royalty free music that you can use in your videos. Here's a video of Cinefy in action: Chairseven, the developer, released this information about the app at CES: Cinefy, a revolutionary new video editing system from Chairseven, is making its public debut at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week. Cinefy allows users to easily create Hollywood quality movies on their iPhones using high quality special effects. Picked as a finalist out of 67 apps in the Mobile App Showdown, Cinefy is making waves at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show. “We are really excited to see the public’s reaction to Cinefy,” said Dan Hellerman, managing director. “Since our announcement we have seen an incredible fan base form around Cinefy. The ability to put Hollywood quality production tools directly in our users hands, and watching them easily and intuitively create movies is incredible. If you had told me 3 years ago that people would  be able to create movies on their iPhones that rival today’s Hollywood blockbusters, I never would have believed you.” When Cinefy launches, it will have over 50 unique effects.  Content will be continually added and rotated, so users should stay tuned for exciting new announcements. “As a former television director, this is a thrilling product to see in action,” said Gary Stover, Creative Director. “We are working with many exciting new brands, TV shows, movies, and video games to bring our users a huge selection of content to craft their movies around. We have some really exciting partnerships lined up for this year, and we can’t wait to see what our users create with Cinefy.” Cinefy also boasts an equally impressive library of copyright cleared songs for use in movies due to a partnership with Friendly Music. At launch users will be able to select from a library of over half a million songs to enhance their movies. “Cinefy is about stretching the limit of a persons creativity to create incredible, memorable movies,” said Hellerman. “We are seeing people allowing artificial intelligence to create movies out of clips they have shot themselves. It is taking the creativity, and fun out of creating movies. Cinefy changes that, and when users are done crafting their masterpiece, they can share it with the world via Facebook, Vimeo or YouTube." With an impressive library of brands, effect packs, and music behind it, Cinefy is looking like it will take the app world by storm when it releases. An Android version has also been announced, but no release date was given. I honestly can't wait to get my hands on this app, in the meantime let us know what you think.
