CES 2012: Hex Adds The Recon To Its Stylish Bag Series
January 13, 2012
We really hate to go anywhere without our iDevices. Usually this means carrying a bulky backpack or carrying multiple items. Hex believes that keeping your electronics close need not be a fashion disaster and they have proved it again with the Recon Messenger Bag.
Offered in two sizes, 13 inch and 15 inch, the Recon will hold your laptop in a padded pocket while safely carrying your iPad in an easily accessible "Pad Port" right under the top flap. It also features an interior organizer for storing your iPhone and other accessories.
The Pad Port allows you to store your iPad with the Smart Cover attached or a first generation iPad without a case. However we found that the protected laptop area is not so generous. In order to fit the 15 inch MacBook Pro any case larger than a thin shell will have to be removed. The same is true of the 13 inch MacBook Pro in the 13 inch bag.
Despite the snug fit, the slim, attractive design will be worth it for many who are only carrying their iDevices. Those who are in school or are carrying additional books will need to look elsewhere to meet their space needs. Accessing the inner pockets is tight with a MacBook Pro inside.
The exterior shell is made of heavy-duty 16-ounce washed canvas and is available in two colors, tan and charcoal. The flap is padded to protect the iPad. The Hex Recon is available now in the Apple Store and retails at $79. What do you think of the Recon? Let us know in the comments!
