CES 2012: iHome Boombox, Docks And Alarm Clocks

January 11, 2012
Who here doesn’t enjoy products prefixed by the letter “i?” If you don’t, you’re definitely in the wrong place. We at AppAdvice love our iDevices and also love utilizing iHome products with them. Not only are they innovative and beautiful, but they’re useful and fun too. This year at CES, iHome showcased many products. So many, in fact, that we couldn’t even get them all to fit on this page. So instead, we’re bringing you our top five iHome products (in no particular order). Let’s start with the hottest looking device, shall we? Say hello to the iP4. This device is modeled after the classic boomboxes of the 1980s, are you trying to forget that decade, too? But this time, it’s made for your iPhone or iPod touch. The dock on the iP4 is flexible, but sturdy and the actual device is powered by batteries or the included AC adapter. The iP4 features SRS TruBass digital signal processing technology, as well as equalizers, amps, woofers, and tweeters — this baby comes stacked. It has an FM radio and aux line-in jack as well as an LED display and remote control. As with all of the iHome products, the iP4 works with the iHome Radio app for access to thousands of Internet radio stations. Next up, we have the iW4. This is an AirPlay enabled wireless speaker system for any of your iDevices. The iW4 can stream audio over your Wi-Fi network, utilizing AirPlay. It has dual alarms, amazing sound quality, and works with the iHome Radio app and also the iHome+Sleep app. It’s also programmable and has its own remote control. The iW3 and iW2 are both similar products, particularly in design (or at least shape). These AirPlay enabled wireless speaker systems are very sleek. They both support USB docking for charging and playing music on your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch. The iW3, however, has a rechargeable battery. These both also come with a remote control and can be used with all of the iHome apps. Both of these devices provide an exceptional, wireless audio experience. This last product is an amazing work station that works with your tablet or smartphone. The iDM5 is a Bluetooth keyboard and speaker system in one. Along with being able to type on your device using the keyboard, this work station has a built in mic, wonderful speakers, USB charging ports, and crystal clear sound. So, there you have it. That’s our wrap up for what iHome had in store for us this year at CES. Which of these products is your favorite? But, really, how can you not pick the bright pink boombox? [gallery link="file"]
