Earth is about to be invaded. An unmanned space station sits outside of the planet’s radar, populated by robots and droids whose sole job it is to create the ultimate war machine against the “Big Blue Marble.” Somehow, RoboHero develops a conscience and decides to save Earth. The player must help the newly sentient machine clear away droids and escape the space station.

Players are given 15 preplanned moves per round to get RoboHero to his destination. To plan the moves, tap the screen in the direction that he should go. Sometimes, it is better for him to wait a few seconds in order to sneak past enemies. He can also use weapons to destroy turrets, droids and other obstacles that get in the way. Deploying weapons counts against RoboHero’s moves.

Since some of the enemies move, it is helpful to have a glimpse into the future. RoboHero can predict the droids’ movements by selecting the Preview Cam feature. This will show a few seconds of the future and help players decide when they should pause, shoot or run away.

The first 10 levels are free. The full version can be unlocked for only $0.99 through an in-app purchase. The game can also be played in Arena mode and Multiplayer mode, which lets players compete against up to six computer-generated players or four real life friends.

This game is the exact opposite of action-packed. It is based on calculated strategies that are planned out and then executed accordingly. It takes a while to get used to the style, but after the third level, it all becomes easier to understand.

Overall, this exciting universal game is excellent for players who enjoy turn-based strategies and insubordinate robots. Try out the first 10 levels for free. Download it in the App Store today.
