iOS Apps Gone Free: Friendle, Current, Meow Maze, And More

Challenge your friends to seven classic turn-based games all from within Candywriter's wonderful board game app, Friendle. We also have a game that takes the orb shooter genre and gives it a little twist, and a game where you must rescue kittens lost in a maze.

iPhone:

120 BPM ($0.99 -> Free, 21.5 MB): Create your own unique tunes by touching and dragging different instrument samples onto a grid with this music app. Each of the eight instruments include six different sounds that can be placed anywhere on the six-line grid. Then just tap play to hear your tunes in their current form. You can come back to the grid and rearrange each sound at any time. The app includes four music styles, the ability to change the tempo, and the ability to record and share your tunes with the world.

Bubble Breaker : Insanely Addictive ($0.99 -> Free, 15.1 MB): Break groups of bubbles by simply tapping on them to climb the global leaderboards in this remove 'em-style game. Bubbles can only be removed in groups of two of the same color or more, and the larger the groups, the more points you'll earn. The game also includes three modes, stat tracking, and 14 achievements to earn.

Universal:

Friendle - 7 Games to Play with Your Friends ($1.99 -> Free, 45.6 MB): A collection of seven different turn-based games that you can play online against your friends or against random opponents. The seven included games are: Friendle Words, Chess, Checkers, Friendle Four, Reversi, Backgammon, and Chinese Checkers. Each game can be played in real-time online, or you can take turns and wait for push notifications. The game also includes in-game chat, customizable profiles, elo-based ratings, and pass and play support. Please be aware that you need to sign up for a free Friendle account in-app to participate.

Wooords ($1.99 -> Free, 15.1 MB): Probably one of the most straightforward word games you’ll ever play thanks to its unique fridge magnet gameplay. All you have to do is drag letters around the screen in an open environment to create words with at least four letters, but you must make sure to use the letter highlighted in red in each word. The game includes three modes, 60 puzzles, combos and multipliers, and Game Center integration.

Wooords is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 513 ratings.

Current ($1.99 -> Free, 19.7 MB): A rather unique take on the orb shooter genre. As the ARC Pilot, your objective is to gather enemy Hexogs and fire them back into others of the same type to remove them from the board. You're provided with a limited number of shots in each level, but you can ricochet Hexogs off of walls to get the best possible placement. The game includes 56 procedurally generated levels, two modes, three difficulty levels, and three-star ratings for each level.

Meow Maze ($1.99 -> Free, 12.2 MB): Guide your character through the randomly generated mazes in order to collect the lost kittens and bring them back to their mother. Each maze has a target number of kittens to collect, but the more you collect before time expires, the higher the amount of coins you'll earn. Coins can be used to unlock new levels, characters, and items. The game includes three unlockable levels, five characters, a variety of customization options, multiplayer, and Game Center integration.

UFOlocaust. ($2.99 -> Free, 176.9 MB): Earth is under attack from a powerful alien race, and as the last line of defense it's up to you to deploy your arsenal of powerful weapons to defend humanity in this twist on the tower defense genre. Build energy harvesting stations by tapping on open spots on the map, and then strategically place your weapons to keep the aliens from abducting the humans. The game includes 25 levels, 20 weapons with multiple upgrades, over 20 enemy types, and Game Center integration.

UFOlocaust. is available for free for a limited time. It has a 5-star rating with a total of 4 ratings.

iPad:

iPizza HD ($1.99 -> Free, 9.7 MB): Construct your own virtual pizza pie with this entertainment app. You're in charge of each step of the pizza creation process, including flattening the dough, applying sauce, piling on cheese, adding toppings, and baking it to perfection. Once your pizza is complete, an image of it will be saved to your library and you can share the video of the entire process with friends. The app includes three sauce types, 34 toppings, unlimited undo, and the ability to cut your pie four ways.

iPizza HD is available for free for a limited time. It has a 3.5-star rating with a total of 94 ratings.
