Brisksaber (Free) by Mekanism, Inc. is a universal slashing game that is a combination of blatant product placements and adorable Star Wars fun. It is essentially Fruit Ninja with a Star Wars theme. What’s not to love?

The game is simple. Players control a lightsaber and use it to slice and dice their enemies, be it the evil empire or the Jedi-loving Republic. Bigheaded caricatures of Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Death Star, Jabba The Hut, Jar Jar Binks and other beloved (or bemoaned) Star Wars icons will fly across the screen as the lightsaber slashes them in to pieces.

Players can choose either the light side, or the dark side and will attack their respective enemies. In “Survival” mode, friends of either side will sometimes appear, reducing the player’s health if slashed. In ‘Timed” mode, players will lose points if they accidentally slice up a friend.

This game is brought to us in collaboration with LucasFilms Ltd. and the iced tea drink Brisk. Yes, it is nothing more than an ad for Brisk and a promotional tool for the upcoming release of Star Wars Episode I - The Phantom Menace in 3D, but it is still a fun casual game for everyone to enjoy.

Additional characters, spaceships and weapons will be unleashed within the app on various days leading up to the movie’s release and all the way through April, so be sure to check back to see what new characters can be split in two.

Overall, this universal game full of slicing and dicing will win the hearts of Star Wars fans everywhere. Even though it is little more than an ad for Brisk and a promo for the upcoming release of The Phantom Menace in 3D, it is still the most fun you can safely have with a lightsaber. Pick it up in the App Store for free.
