Apple Retail Store Robbed By Employee
February 22, 2012
The Charlotte-Mechlenburg, North Carolina police department is looking for an Apple employee who they believe swiped more than $16,000 in iPhones from an Apple Retail Store. The heist, which took place between Dec. 1 and Jan. 11, occurred at the Northlake Mall according to The Charlotte Observer.
The bandit, who hasn't been identified, stole 22 16 GB iPhone 4S models, one 64 GB 4S model, one 8 GB iPhone 4 model, and one 32 GB 4S model.
Although the crimes were said to have occurred nearly five weeks ago, it was only earlier this week that they were reported to police. An Apple employee, through the police department’s online crime reporting system, made the allegations.
The Northlake Mall store opened in August of last year, making it the second such store in the Charlotte area after the SouthPark store across town.
