iOS Apps Gone Free: Bug Chucker, Trippin II, Weight Computer, And More

February 7, 2012

Help the bugs protect their prized spaceship from the onslaught of evil alien robots in Cyan Worlds' physics-based puzzle game, Bug Chucker. We also have an interactive entertainment app that allows you to control up to 20,000 particles at once, and a health and fitness app that will help you lose weight.

All app prices are subject to change at any time and without notice regardless of stated free duration. Price changes are solely under the control of the developers.

iPhone:

Fish Fury ($0.99 -> Free, 10.2 MB): Birds are overwhelming everything in their path, including one of the last piranha colonies, so you must put a stop to them by playing as one tough fish in this action arcade game. As the birds fly over it's your job to stop them from reaching the other side by leaping out of your pond and knocking them down. You must be sure to finish the job while they are in the water so they don't take flight again. The game includes all kinds of power-ups that can be purchased with the in-game coins you earn, an unlockable second environment, and Game Center integration.

Fish Fury is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 505 ratings.

iBlast Moki ($2.99 -> Free, 16.7 MB): An adorable physics-based puzzle game where you must get your Moki from one end of the level to the other by using bombs and other tools available to you. The game includes seven worlds, 85 levels, a level editor with the ability to share your own creations online, and Game Center integration.

iBlast Moki is available for free for a limited time. It has a 3.5-star rating with a total of 14056 ratings.

Universal:

Weight Computer ($1.99 -> Free, 1.6 MB): Finally take control of your weight with this health and fitness app. Simply enter a goal weight and then start tracking it on a daily basis with Weight Computer. The app will provide you with progress details like daily, weekly and monthly loss totals, elapsed days, days left to reach your goal, and the percentage of your total progress. You can also quickly check your weight loss progress in chart form. The app includes support for up to 10 simultaneous users, so you can get your entire family involved.

Weight Computer is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 13 ratings.

Bug Chucker ($3.99 -> Free, 37.8 MB): A physics-based puzzle game from Cyan Worlds, the developer best known for creating the world-renowned Myst and Riven. In the game you must help bugs defend their spaceship, the S.S. Treehuger, from the onslaught of evil robotic creatures known as Sawz, who lurk behind planets, force fields, and space debris. To accomplish this task, simply drag your finger from the launcher towards your target and release. You don't necessarily need direct hits on the Sawz to destroy them since debris can do some damage as well. The game includes 42 levels, a variety of bugs to launch, and Game Center integration.

Bug Chucker is available for free for a limited time. It has a 5-star rating with a total of 33 ratings.

Trippin II ($1.99 -> Free, 969.1 KB): Ever wonder what it would be like to command 20,000 different particles with only the tips of your fingers? With Trippin II you can stop wondering and start making it happen! This interactive entertainment app allows you to manipulate huge amounts of particles in a wide variety of ways. Just tap and swipe with multiple fingers all over your iDevice's screen and watch what happens.

Trippin II is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 5 ratings.

iPad:

Line Birds HD ($0.99 -> Free, 9.0 MB): An iPad-optimized version of Robert Szeleney's hugely popular distance game, Line Birds. In the game you are required to guide cute birds under and over obstacles for as long as possible by tapping and holding on the right side of the screen to flap their wings. Collect three pieces of bird seed to gain a special ability, which you can activate by tapping the left side. The game includes five unlockable birds, three levels of difficulty, and Game Center integration.

Line Birds HD is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4-star rating with a total of 10 ratings.
