Use A Grenade To Keep Birds Away From Your Crop. Why Not?
Ravens Frenzy HD ($1.99) by FalX Games is a shooting gallery game for the iPad that lets you use flamethrowers and grenades to keep pesky birds away from your raspberry truck. Plan your shots carefully and you’ll get to market with a full load.
Players start with a handgun with unlimited bullets. However, the clip only holds 15 bullets and it takes three seconds to reload, giving approaching ravens ample time to grab a raspberry and go.
The first couple of levels are fairly easy to beat. Ravens fly slower and there are less of them on the screen at a time, but as the levels progress, the action increases exponentially. Birds get bigger, faster and fly in larger numbers.
Players can upgrade their handgun once enough money is earned by completing a level. Upgrading means reducing the time it takes to reload the weapon, which cuts down on the amount of time the birds have to steal fruit.
There are also two additional weapons to help get rid of the ravens. A flamethrower will burn up any birds nearby without needing as much aim. Grenades will annihilate everything on the screen in one blow. Additional grenades and refills on the flamethrower can be purchased with in-game money.
The game is continuous play. There are levels, but players can’t go back and replay older levels at all. If you get stuck on level 12, you just have to keep trying until you complete it before you can do anything else.
This game is very fun considering all you do is shoot birds. The levels are challenging enough to keep you playing and the ability to upgrade weapons makes it fun to try to earn enough money to get more. It gets hard fairly quickly, but not so hard that you want to give up. The $1.99 price tag is perfect for a game of this caliber. No ravens were harmed in the making of this game.
