Shake Up Yo Mind is a combination of four different apps. Only one is free, the other three are apps you have to pay for. Shake Yo Fate is the free app that's meant specifically for poker. I'm not a good poker player. I have an "I got a good card" dance that I routinely perform throughout the game. I also smile without resistance and giggle over my cards. I can't help it. I can't even bluff. I thought this app couldn't hurt my game since I'm such a terrible player. I'd just shake the app for some friendly advice and stand a better chance. I was wrong.
The app works like a Magic 8 Ball for poker. Just shake the app and get advice. It's a really simple app. With advice gems like stealing chips from the person to my right or calling just to see what the other person's cards are, I probably would fare better on my own. Not only do I question the sanity in those decisions, but I'm almost certain that I would be shot for them in the wild west days. You just don't idly bluff or steal from a man who makes a habit of carrying around a pistol. It also doesn't comfort me to see the disclaimer on the home screen that the developer isn't responsible if you lose your house. To be honest though, I'm not so sure I wouldn't deserve it if I was nutty enough to bet my house and leave fate in the electronic hands of a random answer generating app.
I'm also fairly certain that fellow poker players would feel agitated if, after a while, they kept having to stop the flow of the game to shake their iPhone at every turn. I've already admitted to being a horrible poker player. I only play for fruit snacks, so my decisions are made pretty quickly. I don't really know how long someone could take to make their own decision when real money was on the line. However, taking out an iPhone and checking it every time your turn came around would probably arouse suspicions of cheating. I hear poker players are very touchy about cheaters.
