The Updated iA Writer Looks Mighty Fine On That New Retina Display

March 18, 2012
Who'd have thought that looking at text would be one of the most enjoyable things to do on the new iPad? I've spent more time reading and browsing the Web on mine than I have using any apps or playing Retina-optimized games. From time to time, I'll do some writing on my iPad, and one of my favorite writing apps, iA Writer (which is now universal), has been updated to support the Retina display of the new iPad. Our own Christine Chan states,
"For those who unaware of iA Writer, it’s a bare-bones text editor. There are no settings to adjust, because the developers want you to focus on actually writing, nothing else. This is one of the best features that a text editor can do, in my personal opinion, and I really appreciate it."
The other features of iA Writer (version 1.5.1) include:
INNOVATIVE WRITING TECHNOLOGY
  • Keyboard extension with ← → and punctuation keys
  • FocusMode™ lets you concentrate on active text (iPad only)
  • Typeface optimized for iPhone and iPad
ESSENTIAL, EASY TO USE INTERFACE
  • Polished to be easy and clear
  • No settings
  • No complicated interactions
REAL TIME SAVE AND SYNC
  • Seamless sync between Mac, iPhone and iPad
  • iCloud
  • Dropbox
WHAT'S NEW IN v1.5
  • iPhone/iPad universal
  • Full screen view when typing
  • Native AirPrint support
  • Retina optimized font face
  • Dropbox stability improvements
  • Fixes & Enhancements
If you haven't had a chance, be sure to check out iA writer in the App Store. For a limited time, it's available for $0.99 - marked down from $1.99.
