Fotopedia's Apps Look Even Better, Retina Display Supported For New iPad

March 28, 2012
Fotopedia, the San Francisco, California-based iOS developer, today announced Retina display support for seven apps for the new iPad - Fotopedia Heritage, Paris, Japan, Wild Friends, Women of the World, North Korea, and Dreams of Burma. The upgraded apps are specifically designed to take full advantage of the Retina display, providing a sharper, richer, lifelike visual experience with high definition images.  With more than 50,000 stunning photographs, these apps showcase the world’s most spectacular scenes. According to Jean-Marie Hullot, CEO of Fotopedia:
“The stunning Retina display on the new iPad delivers four times as many pixels, so we decided to do the same with our popular apps. The result is spectacular. Colors are significantly more intense, resulting in the most vivid photographs. If you love travel and photography, I suggest you try one of our apps on a new iPad and experience the difference for yourself.”
Each of the seven updated apps now feature Visual Stories, a new way to see the world one story at a time, in magazine format. Best of all, new stories are published several times a week. Full features include:
  • Thousands of breathtaking pictures– served at high resolution for the Retina display
  • Visual stories, updated every week
  • Complete navigation with smart tags, search and interactive maps
  • Instant Slideshows
  • Free Wallpapers
  • Trip Planner and Itinerary Builder
  • Favorites to create your own personalized photo albums
  • Photo sharing via email, Facebook and Twitter
  • The apps require an Internet connection, WiFi recommended
With more than nine million downloads to date since its first app launched in August 2010, Fotopedia has now served more than one billion image views. Of these apps, Fotopedia Heritage is one of Apple’s Hall of Fame best 40 apps of all times. Fotopedia is also the recipient of the 2011 Best Tablet App of the Year Crunchies Award. We've enjoyed each of the Fotopedia apps and expect the Retina display treatment to make each of them even better. More impressive, each is available for free. Fotopedia HeritageParisJapanWild FriendsWomen of the WorldNorth Korea, and Dreams of Burma are available now in the App Store.
