Important News About AppAdvice App
March 22, 2012
Folks, sometimes things just don’t work out.
Hours after releasing the latest version of our universal AppAdvice app, we recognized the update wasn’t quite right. Or rather, many of our loyal customers noticed something was amiss.
After installing the Version 1.4.5 update, our iPhone/iPod touch customers using iOS 5.1 may have noticed lines running across each article. This wasn’t done intentionally and certainly doesn't look right. Rather, the problem occurred when we recompiled the app for use on the new iPad. In fact, all the update includes is Retina display support for Apple's latest tablet. The issue arises because we are using an animation that has been depreciated.
While we have already removed those lines across the entire article, the app still isn’t where we want it to be. Therefore, we’re recommending that customers who haven’t yet updated the app to Version 1.4.5 to not do so as a we are currently working hard on redoing the code to get a fix to Apple very soon.
For those of you already affected, please exit the app using the multitasking bar on your iPhone and then reenter the app. The temporary fix should then make the app at least usable.
Note: this problem does not affect our iPad customers.
Thanks for all the support and putting up with us, even when we fall out of line, no pun intended.
