Mystery Case Files: 13th Skull Collector's Edition HD is the latest installment in Big Fish Games' hugely popular adventure-puzzle game series to make its way to iPad. Mystery Case Files: 13th Skull has you playing as a master detective who's trying to uncover the secret behind the mysterious disappearance of Marcus Lawson, a family man who just recently moved into a mansion in Louisiana. The locals, along with Marcus' young daughter, Magnolia, believe that an evil pirate's curse has something to do with the disappearance, but you'll need to search for clues, solve puzzles, and speak with different characters to discover the truth.
You're able to follow along with the story through interactions with the game's live action characters. Through these interactions, you'll be able to pick up small clues that will help you unlock secrets and solve puzzles.
Interacting with the various detailed environments is as simple as tapping where you want to go or look, and then tapping on clues to examine them even closer. You're also able to view your inventory and current objectives at all times at the bottom of the screen. If you need a little nudge to help you get back on track, you can tap the hint button in the lower right corner of the screen. You can use as many hints as you need since they regenerate over time.
The game includes almost 15 hours of gameplay, which features a nice mixture of puzzles and hidden objects activities to keep things feeling fresh. It also includes a variety of collector's edition concept art and wallpapers, and achievements via Game Center.
