New Monty Python App Interacts With Blu-Ray Movie

March 2, 2012
Melcher Media has announced the upcoming release of the company’s newest iPad app, Monty Python: The Holy Book of Days. Available March 6, the app’s release coincides with the debut of the "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" classic on Blu-ray with UltraViolet from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. A must-have for any Python fan with an iPad, the app is packed full of Python history, from Michael Palin’s day-by-day diary of the filming to Terry Gilliam’s storyboards. In addition, it includes the original continuity sheets and 360-degree views of actual props and costumes.

Yet, the iPad app is much more, as it serves as a second screen companion to the Blu-ray. With your Blu-ray player synced via your Wi-Fi network, your iPad becomes your remote control, allowing you to jump to the exact scenes in the movie that you are browsing in the app. First released in 1975, "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" stars Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin. Monty Python: The Holy Book of Days is from the same folks that created the universal Winner of the 2011 Apple Design Award, Al Gore - Our Choice. We can't wait to see this app in action. When we do, we'll be sure to let you know what we think. Both the app and the movie arrive next Tuesday, March 6.
