Pocket Brain Offers A Journey Into The Human Brain
The human brain is considered the most amazing biocomputer on earth. Pocket Brain, by Pocket Anatomy, is a new app that is the ultimate interactive brain atlas, suitable for those who are curious and in-depth enough for use by medical professionals or neuroscientists. Pocket Brain features a 3-D brain model which can be turned and moved, complete with pins at key anatomical points which can be touched for more information.
No Wi-Fi connection is required as the app includes all the data. How much neuroanatomy to do you want to learn? Pocket Brain has a large database with over 30,000 words of in-depth content which can be viewed as a light summary or in scientific detail.
If you want to test yourself it features multiple quiz options and it even includes a few interactive clinical cases to test your ability to diagnose patients. For those studying, pins can be placed and notes added. Several views such as cross sections and neural pathways are supported and are ready to explore.
We can see this app as being vital to medical professionals and those studying anatomy and neuroanatomy, as well as for those who just want to explore the ultimate biocomputer to see how it ticks. It is as well-designed in 3-D interactivity as The Elements, and will likely find it's way onto our AppList for Science Lovers. If you cannot see the video above please click here.
Playing with Pocket Brain really fascinated us. It was interesting and fun to explore the complex brain structure and test ourselves with the clinical cases, though our attempt to diagnose had a rather unfortunate outcome for our patients. What do you think of apps that bring such intense knowledge to the general public? Are there any other such apps you would love to see?
