Robots Don't Stand A Chance In AI Buster
AI Buster ($2.99) by Tako-Banana will have you shooting everywhere like you just don't care. You play as Captain Eagle, a near perfect stand in for Marvel Comic's "Cable" character (without the robotic arm and telekinesis).
Robots have taken over a human colony, which the captain doesn't like one bit. With him being armed to the teeth with weapons, explosions aplenty are guaranteed.
At first I thought this was going to be a dual stick controller game (guess I'm not coordinated enough for them), but this game provides a good controller method.
Left and right arrows on the left side of the screen control movement, while one stick controller on the side aims the gun. A jump button is available as well, which can also perform a double jump when tapped twice.
Each level has three different options for play: kill a certain amount of robots, last for a defined period of time, or reach a specific distance. Completing the level successfully doesn't rely on one method or the other.
For example, if you're getting your butt kicked by trying to destroy robots as they try to destroy you, lasting for a certain time may work.
But that's not to say that you can just tuck your tail between your legs and run through a level. No, killing is most definitely involved because you'll need to clear the level of robots to reach 100 percent.
You can do this through multiple passes, though.
My favorite strategy is to just keep running and fire behind me. You'll only get a nip from robots you pass, and then you can just waylay them as they chase you.
Whatever works for you is fine, though standing your ground in one spot is not recommended.
At $2.99, the price is a bit steep. However, you can rest assured that your bloodlust will be quenched.
