The anime-style story is about a tired old ghost reaper named Death who seeks the help of tough, but adorable, Angela. As she cuts down wayward ghosts with her scythe, they are trapped in Death’s lantern.
To catch the ghosts, players must match four blocks of the same color, but the blocks must be adjacent to the ghosts. There are also a limited number of blocks that will drop from above. For example, there may only be four sets of blocks in one round. Players must decide where the blocks can be set to best create the chain reaction that will later clear the board.
There are 100 rounds across five different levels in Story mode. Between each level, Death and Angela continue their adventure. They meet new people and help clear buildings of pesky ghosts.
In Score Attack mode, players have a specific number of moves to rid the board of a certain amount of ghosts. The important aspect of this mode is high scores. The longer the match chain you can create, the more points you earn.
In Endless mode, players must clear ghosts before they fill up the screen. Instead of having a limited number of blocks and ghosts, each drop causes a new row of ghouls to appear until you either remove them all, or they overtake you.
Overall, this game is full of puzzle fun. People who enjoy match-three gaming will appreciate a new twist on an old genre.
