Join An Epic Battle of Shurikens And Claws In Ninja Dino Showdown
Ninja Dino Showdown?! ($1.99) by Binary Rebellion is an app that aims to solve that age old question: in the battle between ninjas and dinos, who will emerge victorious?
The game is a lane defense, similar to other defense games like Plants vs. Zombies. You’re on team ninja, and it’s your job to defeat hordes of attacking dinosaurs with your awesome ninja skills, using weapons like shurikens and your deadly ninja kicks.
Battles take place in a dojo or a field, where you line up your team of ninjas into different lanes to attack approaching dinosaurs. You must kill the dinosaurs before they reach the end of the lane. Ninjas can be wiped out, and when that happens, you’ll need to resuscitate them with a little tap CPR before they can jump back into battle.
Defeated dinosaurs will drop money (I don’t want to know where they keep those coins), which is used to buy upgrades for your ninjas, increasing their power. It’s necessary to continually upgrade your ninja troops to keep up with the never-ending stream of dinosaurs that the game launches at you.
Levels start out easily enough, but the difficulty quickly ramps up. You’ll need to practice some serious ninja zen to get into the battle zone. Ninjas can be moved from lane to lane with a finger, and you’ll have to figure out the best lane strategies to keep your team alive.
There are several types of ninjas and several types of dinosaurs, which are introduced over the course of the game. There are three difficulty levels for each section of the game: newbie, recruit, and master. The goal is to beat the levels all three difficulties.

The game has simplistic but decent graphics, though I was disappointed with the lack of variety in the environments. Gameplay, however, is well done, and if you’re a fan of lane defense games, you’ll like Ninja Dino Showdown.
It is a bit pricy at $1.99 for what it is, with no Game Center support, but the developers promise free episodic updates, which could make it a worthwhile purchase.
