Strong Man Competition Soon To Flex Its Muscles On iOS
March 12, 2012
The App Store contains a game for virtually any sport you can imagine and caters to almost everyone's tastes. You'd be hard pressed to think of a category that has yet to be covered, but Scottish development house Digital Goldfish has just found one.
During this year's Game Development Conference (GDC) Digital Goldfish announced that they are currently hard at work on a World's Strongest Man title, and it's shaping up to be quite a treat as you can see from this preview video:
The game is officially licensed and at launch will be iPhone only. The aim of the game is to compete in the various strong man events while balancing out your athlete's energy and morale bars. How this is actually achieved is not yet very clear. The events in question include "classics" such as Keg Toss, Overhead Lift, and Truck Pull.
The World's Strongest Man title seems to be quite a fully rounded package offering both the standard events and a training feature used to improve your athlete's strength and skill. This is achieved through seven handy little mini games.
The career mode features a 10 year cycle of events where your aim is, obviously, to become The World's Strongest Man, or die trying! Okay, you won't ever die trying, but it adds an air of drama right?
If you just want a pick-up and play session, a quick-play mode will also be included at launch.
Do you have what it takes to become The World's Strongest Man? It seems like you'll know soon!
