Wish You Could ‘Pin It’ From Your iPad Browser? Pinterest It Can Help And You Can Win A Copy

March 3, 2012
AppAdvice has teamed up with Ronen Drihem to offer our readers a chance to win one of 10 copies of Pinterest It ($0.99) for the iPad and iPhone/iPod Touch. Pinterest It is a simple app that allows users to create a bookmarklet in their mobile device’s Safari Web browser. The initial set up takes only a few minutes and before you know it, you’ll be pinning pictures of your favorite shoes to your Pinterest board like a pro. Please note that users must have a Pinterest account to use this app. The app doesn’t have any other features, but it is a fairly simple way to get a “Pin It” button on you Safari Web browser. There is a very helpful video that users should watch first. It goes by fast, but watch it a couple of times if you have to.

When you open the app, you will be directed to integrate with Safari. You will be asked to open Safari from within the app. Once this happens, a JavaScript code will automatically be copied. The instructions will then guide you through the next set of steps to getting the bookmarklet into the bookmarks list. The bookmarklet won’t automatically show up on the bookmarks bar. There are a few additional steps that aren’t listed (but are in the video). First, go to your device’s settings section and set the Safari browser to “always show bookmarks bar.” Then, go back to Safari and tap on the icon that looks like an open book. Scroll down until you see “Pinterest It” on the list. Tap “Edit” and then drag that bookmark into the “Bookmarks Bar” folder. Once in the folder, drag “Pinterest It” to the top of the list. Now, it will always be at the far left of the browser’s bookmark bar. For a chance to win a copy of Pinterest It, leave a comment below before Sunday, March 4 at 11:59 CST. Good luck and happy pinning!
