App Store Customers Experiencing Problems Redeeming Gift Cards

A growing number of AppAdvice readers are telling us they are currently experiencing a problem in the App Store when trying to redeem gift cards and/or codes for apps.
The error message is: “This code is only valid for customers of the Store.”
We have received no official word from Apple regarding what is causing the error, nor do we know whether it is system-wide or sporadic.
Visitors to Apple’s Support Communities are being asked to visit the company’s iTunes support page to help resolve the issue.
