Apple Offering Free Copies Of Snow Leopard For Last MobileMe Customers
April 19, 2012
In June, Apple will officially shut down MobileMe for good. To encourage the last of these customers to switch to iCloud, the company is offering free copies of Snow Leopard, Apple’s seventh major release of Mac OS X, according to Macgasm.
In an email going out to MobileMe customers, Apple is offering to pick up the tab for a DVD copy of Snow Leopard. Once installed, these users can then purchase OS X Lion in the Mac App Store for $29.
In order to use iCloud, a user must have Lion installed on their Mac.
To get in on this deal, users have to follow this link and then log into MobileMe using their account information. Once you fill in your address information, the DVD will arrive in the mail in a few days.
Keep in mind this offer expires on June 15, 2012. Apple will end MobileMe on June 30.
First launched in June, iCloud offers customers backup and restore for iOS devices, Find My iPhone, Photo Stream, Back to My Mac, and the ability to use iTunes Match, among other goodies.
If you're still using MobileMe, what are you waiting for? Switch to the free iCloud today.
