FiveADay Makes Healthy Eating A Deadly Affair
April 10, 2012
I am back in the office today after a long, four day weekend. The weekend saw me consume an ungodly amount of chocolate for Easter. It was also my fiancée's birthday, which was yet another reason to indulge.
This morning I vowed to cut back and start trimming down, in preparation for my wedding next year. This new found commitment to all things healthy leads me (tenuously) to a game I would like to share with you today, FiveADay ($1.99) from Llamasoft.
FiveADay is, according the the developer, a "fruit-em-up" and features a graphical style very reminiscent of Llamasoft's other projects such as Minotaur Rescue and Caverns of Minos.
The guys over at TouchArcade recently took FiveADay for a spin, and recorded the following video. The video will show you what to expect from FiveADay:
If you cannot play the embedded video above, it is also available by clicking here.
FiveADay is a bullet storm game, much like the recently released, and reviewed, Violet Storm HD. Unlike Violet Storm, however, you do not have to choose the direction of your bullets in FiveADay. Your ship just shoots in the direction you are facing at all times.
FiveADay, much like all of Llamasoft's previous offerings, is light on graphical beauty. It makes up for this, however, with some fun, simple and addictive gameplay that will keep you coming back for more. Your aim is to destroy your enemies, collect the random fruit they leave behind when destroyed, and rack up the highest score possible, all while staying alive.
If you are after a quick, fun and simple game experience, you can't go too wrong with FiveADay, though I have to admit I do hate the icon!
