Kitaru Needs A Kickstart

April 20, 2012
Since it's inception, Kickstarter has helped some amazing projects get off the ground. The crowd sourced funding model has proven more successful than anyone thought, with many saying this method will be the future for film, design and gaming. The latest gaming project to hit the site, Kitaru, looks amazing. Aoineko Studios, an award-winning gaming and animation studio based in Phoenix, Arizona, has recently launched the Kickstarter campaign to assist with the funding of the new title, Kitaru. Kitaru is, according to Aoineko Studios, "... an epic new 3D role-playing." Aoineko Studios recently released a teaser trailer for Kitaru. The game certainly looks like it may live up to the "epic" label: If you cannot view the embedded video above, it is also available by clicking here. Kitaru is an episodic sci-fi game that, according to the developer, "breaks the mold of traditional RPG storytelling." The game is being developed using the hugely popular, and powerful, Unity 3D gaming engine. Using the Unity engine, Aoineko Studios has created a gorgeous looking third person action game which merges classic RPG elements "... with post modern storytelling, ingenious humor, and entertaining pop culture." Ben Steele, the creator of Kitaru and owner of Aoineko Studios says:
We are excited to offer the first episodic mobile game of its kind. The quality of the graphics and the environments found within Kitaru is at a level not yet achieved on these platforms. This game is being built differently, as hardcore gamers want to see, rather than for studio executives that are looking for easy and safe marketing.

With amazing visuals, and an epic storyline to boot, Kitaru is looking really impressive so far. While at an early Alpha stage, it is still clear what the game's ultimate goal is, and you could be a major part in seeing it come to life.

If you are interested in supporting the development of Kitaru, or just want to find out more about this project, you can visit the team's Kickstarter page. The page features a whole host of information on the project.

Aoineko Studios is offering some pretty impressive rewards for anyone willing to show their support for the project. Ranging from beta access to naming characters, or even having your own custom character in the game. Whatever your budget, you look set to be well rewarded for putting your faith in the company.

Kitaru is sounding great so far, and may just be the first Kickstarter project I support. How about you guys? Dig deep!
