Create A Digital Contact Card With My Facecard And Enter Our Giveaway

April 12, 2012

my facecard ($0.99) by SK planet is a handy social networking app that helps you create a digital contact card that can easily be shared with all of your friends, family, and acquaintances.

The app connects with your Facebook account to quickly import your name and your email address, which is applied to a digital business card. From there, you can customize the card to your liking.

In the profile setting, you can add your phone number, and links to all of your social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Tumblr, and Blogger. You can also add an email address, a website, and information about yourself. Facecards are entirely interactive, so your contacts just need to tap the appropriate button to visit any of your social networking profiles.

After your information has been fully incorporated into the card, you can take a photo to use on your card, or import one from the camera roll. This means you can use virtually any image, either your own or an image downloaded from the Internet.

Your photo can be customized with filters, turning your pictures black and white, adding a retro vibe, or adding a desaturated, blue-toned look. These filters are a great option for customizing photos, and I’d love to see more of them added in an update.

Your card has both a front and back, so you will need to choose a photo for each. When your photos are set, you can further customize the look of your card with a custom font, font size, and font color.

There are quite a few well-designed fonts available, though it would be nice to be able to move the position of my text and my social networking icons in future versions of this app for even greater customization.

Your completed card can be shared with other My Facecard users, either by inviting your contacts to join you on the app, or by bumping phones with someone who also uses the app. This is a great way to get complete information from people, and it provides users with several ways to get in touch with their contacts.

You can also upload your card to Facebook, or share it in an email, but an emailed version of the card is simply a JPG and social networking links are not clickable. A text only card with social networking user names would make contact cards more viable for use in emails.

If you decide to quit using My Facecard at any point, your account can be completely deleted with a simple tap, which is a nice privacy feature.

All in all, while this app could use a few improvements, it’s well polished and it’s a great way to share all of your social networking information with others.

To get you started with the app, we’ve teamed up with the developer to offer our readers some promo codes and iTunes gift cards. I have 10 My Facecard promo codes and 10 $10 iTunes gift cards (U.S. App Store only) to hand out to 20 lucky winners! If you want to enter to win, just leave a comment on this post before Monday, April 16th at 6 p.m PST.

Make sure to tell your friends and family about our giveaway, too! This app works best when you’ve got a few friends to share cards with.
