Quirky App Of The Day: Zombie Feast

April 28, 2012
We humans have lost the greatest battle to ever face the Earth. The zombies have, in fact, conquered humanity. With our penchant for tasting yummy and our inability to work together without egos clashing, I can't say I'm really all that surprised. Zombie Feast focuses on the difficult trials of living in a zombie-run world. If working for a fast food joint was bad before, at least employees didn't have to worry about being eaten in the event of a mistake. That small comfort has been removed in this new world we find ourselves in. Zombie Feast is a universal app that features three different locations for your food services. You can serve in either a cafeteria, a pizzeria, or an alley. You can also choose between the easy and hard play modes. I'm assuming this is the difference between the lunch rush and the dunner rush at human food establishments. I've never worked in fast food, so I'm not sure. The zombies and strange talking rats request three food items to eat at a time. Once you drag all the food onto the serving area, you have to drag the food to the zombie. I had just been tapping on the food, and it told me that I lost. I was frustrated until my fellow test subject figured it out without any problems. So, you have to drag the food to the proper zombie. Another detail that I checked out was whether order was important. I'm referring to whether or not you need to get all the food in the order it's listed on the screen, or if it matters which zombie you serve first. The food didn't seem to be an issue. Which zombie you served first did seem to matter. It's easy when it's only one zombie at a time, but after playing long enough, the zombies arrive faster. You can end up with three or four zombies on the screen. Remembering which one popped up first was difficult. In the upcoming zombie apocalypse, or zompocalypse if you will, would you rather serve them their bizarre food or become a trained house pet? Zombie Feast is available in the App Store for $0.99.
